First Experience in Photography: PENA 1 in Kelud Mountain

This was amazing adventure in Kelud. I joined this camp and came along with my friends from FOSTER, the photographer community in my campus. Fotografi STAIN KEDIRI we call it, Foster held a trainning for the new member and also the senior ones. It was the first time for Foster to hold a kind of program because Foster is new student activity in campus. Our program was PENA 1 Foster, or Penerimaan Anggota 1 Foster. My friends and I left campus on November 19 2010. We were going to Kelud, one of active mountain in East Java. Our base camp was in Kelud Observation Centre 9 km from the top of mountain. We were going to do camping for 3 days and in this place we held the tranning and seminar. It was cold, humid and foggy when we arrived in that place. A man who welcame us was the official of this observation office and he’s really friendly accepted us in his office. I asked a lot of questions and he appreciated it well. I can’t help waiting for tomorrow and hunting time in Kelud crater on the top!


The next day, we held a kind of discussion about photography and camera with Bu Diah, one of lecturers in STAIN KEDIRI Ushuludin Department. Our special guest was Mbak Ika from Radar Kediri, she just arrived from Malang and shared her time for us to share and exchange experiences. She is jurnalist in Radar Kediri and she knows photography very well. Her photos are such as beautiful ones, I hope I can do the same as she does. It was great discussion although the conditition couldn’t be said good. Even though it was little bit boring and the listeners did not respon the discussion well, I have got a lot of knowledge and tricks about photography and camera. In the discussion with Bu Diah we were talking about SLR camera and trying to know the parts of the camera further. It was the first time for me to know the parts and the function of SLR cameras. They have different parts and function in different brand of cameras. And in hunting time, tomorrow, we were going to pratice using this kind of camera.


I’m sad because I can’t show my photos that I captured with SLR camera in this blog, but I have others although they captured from digital camera. I’m just a beginner and need more practicing and study about the newest art in the world, photography.
And my chance that I waited for was coming and I was going to do as well as I know how to create a good picture. And here are some moments and pictures from the Kelud Mountain.
